Wiranto Stabbing Aftermath; Densus 88 Captures Terror Suspects

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Police's Special Anti-Terror Detachment or Densus 88 continues to hunt for suspected terrorists after the stabbing of Wiranto, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs. Densus 88 has arrested several people suspected of being linked to the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah or JAD network in several regions including Bekasi, Indramayu, and Cirebon.
In Cirebon, a terrorist suspect was arrested Monday night, October 14, 2019.
The Cirebon City Police Chief, Adj. Sr. Comr. Roland Ronaldy, said the suspect was apprehended at Kanggraksan Street at around 21:40.
Roland said that the suspect, S, is being detained for further interrogation.
After S was arrested, officers searched his parents' home in Pronggol Street at Cirebon City's Lemahwungkuk sub-district. The police found nothing and continued to search another house on Evakuasi Street, which belongs to a terror convict currently in jail.
Roland said that the suspect is known to conduct his activities at those two houses.
"We got that information from S' parents during the first search," Rolan said on Monday, October 15.
The police had also arrested several people suspected to be members of the JAD terrorist network in Cirebon City, Cirebon Regency, and Indramayu Regency.
The suspect arrested in Cirebon Regency, YF a.k.a. Y Buntung, is known to be the "amir" or leader of JAD Cirebon branch. All of the suspects are currently being detained for questioning by the Densus 88.
