TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A volunteer group siding with the government dubbed the Jam'iyyah Jokowi-Ma'ruf is set to file a police report against National Mandate Party (PAN) politician Hanum Salsabila Rais over a tweet she posted suggesting the attack against Minister Wiranto was staged.
The group’s coordinator, Rody Asyadi argues that Hanum’s tweet can potentially be dangerous as it is not the first time the politician had published similar tweets.
“Her tweets are spreading negativity for members of the public,” said Rody on Friday, October 11.
He also believes Hanum Rais' statement only serves to make problems worse, steer opinions, and contain elements of hate speech. According to Rody, Jam'iyyah Jokowi-Ma'ruf members will arrive at the Police Criminal Investigation Agency’s headquarters today, October 11.
Hanum, through her twitter account, accused the incident where Coordinating Minister Wiranto was stabbed was staged to pursue funding for terrorist de-radicalization programs. Her tweet had since been deleted.
“It’s all a setup to pursue de-radicalization funds. He’s looking for attention as he will not be appointed again. He’s playing victim, the plot is easily read,” said the daughter of PAN senior member, Amien Rais.
