Wiranto Sustains Two Stab Wounds: Hospital

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Director of Pandeglang Berkah Hospital Firmansyah affirmed that Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto sustained two stab wounds in his right abdomen.
“[He got] two quite deep cuts but not severe. After we check, his condition is not too critical, and [the wounds] do not threaten his safety,” said Firmansyah, Thursday, October 10.
Firmansyah recommended his patient to obtain more intensive treatment. “We recommend him to Gatot Subroto Army Hospital (RSPAD),” he said.
Reports suggested that the Coordinating Minister was attacked by a man during his visit to Mathla'ul Anwar Islamic Boarding School in Labuan, Banten today, October 10.
A police member standing next to him was also stabbed in the right chest for trying to protect the minister. Other than them, the school administrator Fuad Syauqi also sustained a cut on his waist.
A witness Ukun Kurnia reiterated that the minister was stabbed after he just got out of his car. “When he got out of his car to board a helicopter to Jakarta, a man attack him by using a knife,” he said.
Ukun added that the perpetrator was immediately arrested by the police and military forces (TNI), while Wiranto and Fuad Syauqi were rushed to Pandeglang Regional Hospital.
