TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi held a meeting with the sixth Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), Thursday, October 10. The meeting took place in Merdeka State Palace's Jepara Room, Jakarta.
No Democrat's executive was seen accompanying the party's chair as he arrives at the palace at 2 p.m. They were having a one-on-one meeting.
Democrat Party secretary-general Andi Arief earlier said that SBY made into the session after being invited by the President. “As for the [meeting] agenda, we have not known it yet. I think, it is a regular meeting,” said Andi.
Today’s meeting was the first official meeting of Jokowi and SBY after the 2019 presidential election. During the election, Democrat Party backed Prabowo Subianto - Sandiaga Uno pair.
However, after the president-elect was announced, the party declared that it left the coalition supporting Prabowo.
In his contemplation speech on September 9, SBY called on all Indonesians to support the administration of Joko Widodo - Ma'ruf Amin for the next five years.
