TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Police Headquarters' head of Public Information Bureau, Brig. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo, confirmed that there was an attack on Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Wiranto. He said that the attacker has been arrested.
"We have detained the attacker. The Banten Regional Police Chief is now at the location of the incident. [The suspect] is interrogated first," Dedi said in his office in Jakarta, Thursday, October 10.
Wiranto was attacked by an unknown man when he was visiting the Mathla'ul Anwar Islamic Boarding School in Labuan, Banten, today.
Photos that are circulating online showed Wiranto was attacked by a man wearing white trousers. He attacked the minister next to his car.
The man could be seen holding a short sharp object that looks like a knife.
