TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) faction at Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) is urging Governor Anies Baswedan to open the access to the 2020 General Budget Policies and Provisional Budget Ceiling and Priorities (KUA-PPAS). Otherwise, they deem that Anies does not support budget transparency.
“I’m confused, why is it so difficult to upload the document of the budget plan to the public as usual? If Pak Anies cares, he does not have to hide it,” said the party faction member William Aditya Sarana in a statement, Wednesday, October 8.
He considers such a move a setback in financial management and questions Anies’s concern about budget transparency.
According to William, Anies must immediately post the budget plan so the public could criticize it. Moreover, the city proposes Rp95 trillion for the next year’s budget.
William added that the remaining months before the year’s end are considerably tight to discuss the budget draft. He recalls that based on the Home Affairs Ministerial Regulation, the 2020 regional budget must be ratified no longer than November 30.
Additionally, the city administration proposes many budget hikes, such as the budget for the governor’s special team (TGUPP), renovation of the governor’s official residence, and procurement of software licenses and antivirus.
William claims that PSI has encouraged Anies Baswedan to reveal the 2020 KUA PPAS for the last two months and even sent an official request. However, there is no answer yet to date.
