TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential expert staffer (KSP) Ali Mochtar Ngabalin says the Indonesian government under the leadership of President Joko Widodo, or Jokowi, is often targeted by political social media buzzers.
“Political buzzers more than often slander the government. It is the government that is often targeted and bullied, don’t twist the facts,” said Ngabalin in a discussion about the government’s stand on the Law on Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK Law) today.
Ngabalin argued that spreading the government’s programs via social media was not an unusual practice. He maintained there were no political powers in the world that did not utilize social media platforms for this same goal.
As for the so-called buzzers siding with the government, Ngabalin rebuffed allegations that the government had paid a number of buzzers to support Jokowi’s programs on social media.
“The government never organized them. So, no problem,” said Ngabalin, who then agreed that the social media buzzers, either pro-government or opposition, should be dealt with.
