TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State Secretariat Minister Pratikno reveals that the government returned the revised draft of the law on corruption eradication commission or KPK Law because of a number of typographical errors.
The government has requested clarification from the House of Representatives (DPR) regarding the typos as they are the ones that composed it.
“It was already sent by the DPR but there were still typos in them. It was already in the process of sending the draft to the legislation board,” said Pratikno at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Thursday, October 1.
However, he says he does not specifically remember the parts in the Law that had the clerical errors but maintains that the mistakes would potentially spark multiple interpretations.
The DPR has approved the revised KPK Law on September 17, but the president has yet ratified it until now as it has not been adopted as an official state document.
