Jokowi Reports Achievements in Final Cabinet Meeting

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - In his last Cabinet meeting, President Joko Widodo, known also as Jokowi, reported the government’s achievements for the past five years.
President elaborated that during his first term in office, the government managed to conduct a number of reforms in sectors that include fiscal, infrastructure, permits, and social protection. He also thanked his State Ministers for assisting his term together with Vice President Jusuf Kalla.
“For the past five years, I witnessed the establishment of a foundation for the country’s future development that will lead to a robust, productive, and more prevalent,” said the president at State Palace today, October 1.
The former governor of Jakarta also asserted that infrastructure developments were done with “Indonesia-centric” in mind. He also said the government’s social protection program and poverty management had been met with significant reform.
Talking about his second term in office, which will officially start after he is inaugurated mid-October, Joko Widodo promised to further simplify procedures and regulations that will hopefully improve Indonesia’s competitiveness in the global economic chain.
