210 Victims of September 30 Protest Rushed to Hospital: Anies

    TEMPO.CO, JakartaJakarta Governor Anies Baswedan recorded that 210 people were rushed to a number of hospitals during the students' demonstration around the House of Representatives (DPR) building, Central Jakarta, Monday, September 30.

    “Based on data per 07:30 a.m. (Tuesday), 210 people are brought to the hospital but only 15 of them are hospitalized,” said Anies after attending the Pancasila Sanctity Day ceremony at National Monument or Monas, Tuesday, October 1.

    The former education and culture minister said the provincial administration deployed personnel during the Monday’s massive protest, including from Transportation Agency, Medical team, and Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), as well as 29 ambulances.

    Anies explained most of the victims were rushed to Pertamina Hospital. “They are still working until midnight.”

    Additionally, he also appointed officers to repair several road facilities damaged due to the rally, such as Transjakarta separators. “They have started the work since last night,” Anies added.

    Moreover, to ensure Jakarta roads are safe and clean, Anies Baswedan mobilized 200 personnel to clean up the city. The janitors were standby at Gelora Bung Karno area. “They immediately clean up all areas when the situation is under control.”
