TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Public Housing and Public Works Minister Basuki Hadimuljomo said the government plans to build 2,500 kilometers of toll road within the next five years, or in the second period of President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo in the office. The project will complete the 1,852 km of toll road planned to finish this year.

"We'll build toll road stretching around 2,500 kilometers within the next five years," said Basuki at Indonesia Stock Exchange building, Friday, September.

The route includes trans Sumatra toll that spans along 2,000 kilometers and JOR II toll from Jagorawi, Cibitung, and port.

The plan is expected to require Rp270-300 trillion that will be funded by the state budget, corporation-government partnership, or private investment. The government is currently preparing the Omnibus Law to slash complicated regulations in order to attract investors.

In realizing this year's toll road project, the minister admitted that the government is currently challenged by the land acquisition problem, such as in Palembang - Teluk Betung toll. The toll road will connect Bakauheni - Terbangi Besar - Kayu Agung - Palembang - Teluk Betung once it is completed.

Minister Basuki assuredthatBakauheni-Palembangtollwill be operationalthisyear.

Other toll road projects expected to complete this year is from Lampung to Palembang, pending the Terbangi Besar - Kayu Agung route along 130 kilometers, and Serpong - Balaraja toll.
