TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Traffic Directorate of the Metro Jaya Regional Police and PT Jasa Marga have agreed to implement the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (E-TLE) system on toll roads.

"This is the request or the cooperation between Jasa Marga and Traffic Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police. This is a cooperation, both sides need this," said Chief of the Law Education and Enforcement Sub-Directorate of the Traffic Directorate AKBP M. Nasir on Friday, September 20, 2019.

Nasir said that the purpose of the implementation of the E-TLE system for the Traffic Directorate is to maintain security, public order, and safety. Meanwhile, the benefit for PT Jasa Marga is to reduce the number of violations on toll road.

In addition to the implementation of the E-TLE system, the Metro Jaya Regional Police will also cooperate with PT Transjakarta to install E-TLE system on Transjakarta bus lane.

Previously, the Traffic Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police and PT Transjakarta had signed an MoU to reduce the number of people using the special bus lane by installing electronic fine system on September 9, 2019.

Director of PT Transjakarta Agung WIcaksono said that the cooperation will certainly bring positive effects towards Transjakarta and Polda Metro Jaya.

Agung however, was reluctant to inform about the location of the camera. He argued that the information should be kept secret so road users can comply to all laws on the road.
