Sri Mulyani Sees Corruption as Unredeemable Blunder

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, in front of the Ministry’s 129 freshly inaugurated echelon III officials, says that they bear significant roles upon moving Indonesia’s economy and highlighted one example of corruption that happened in the institution.
“They (the echelon III official) even instructed to engage in corruption and used their authority to protect themselves by pressing their subordinates to dwell in corruption,” the minister said in Jakarta on Tuesday, September 17.
She deemed that the aforementioned systematic corruption not only damages the person involved but also badly implicates its organization and employees.
“That is an unforgivable sin,” she said.
Minister Sri asserts hope for the freshly inaugurated officials to continue to be professional, have integrity, and bears the much-needed leadership skills. She said that echelon III officials are in a strategic position since it is the bridge between managerial leaders and staffs.
“What you do and say can be an investment for us, especially those who have just been accepted,” said the minister upon the echelon’s position as role models.
