TEMPO.CO, JakartaGerindra chief patron Prabowo Subianto is reportedly hoping that his former running mate in the 2019 presidential election, Sandiaga Uno, will rejoin his party.

The party’s deputy chairman Fadli Zon has confirmed the rumor. He said that Sandiaga might announce his rejoining to the party when the national meeting takes place.

Pak Prabowo wishes Pak Sandi to tie again with Gerindra,” said the House deputy speaker.

Responding to the issue, the former deputy governor of Jakarta said he is still waiting for further talks with the party chairman. “I’ll communicate it with Pak Prabowo,” said Sandi.

Sandiaga was one of Gerindra’s executive board members. He left the party after he was chosen to accompany Prabowo in the previous presidential race.

After losing the election, Sandiaga Uno has not joined any party yet so far.
