TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesia Solidarity Party (PSI) is raising funds through social media for the purpose renovating the party's office. The required fund is estimated to be around IDR 2 million per square meter.

"There are several servants of Allah who provides working space for @psi_id around 1,000 square meters for the next five years. Now we need help to renovate the interior [of the office], around IDR 2 million per meter," wrote PSI Secretary General Raja Juli Antoni in his Twitter account @AntoniRaja on Thursday, September 5, 2019.

Antoni confirmed the news. He asserted that the party is in the process of raising funds to renovate its office. Antoni added that the office building the party used, was acquired through the same method.

Antoni's tweet received many negative sentiments from internet users. For example, @tonyfathony2 said "No shame, Political party demands donation to the public?" Another account @rizalcreative commented "Pretend to be poor, in the last election PSI's [campaign attribute] were abundant."

Antoni responded lightly. He asserted that crowd funding is normal in countries with well-established democratic practices. In such countries, crowd funding has become the backbone of party's funding.

Antoni admitted that the results are quite well. In the first day it was opened, the campaign gather IDR 8 million. However, he is yet to check the results today.

"Not bad, on the first day, many people has donated," Antoni said on Saturday, September 7, 2019
