TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ciputat sector police arrested an online motorcycle taxi or ojek driver for selling drugs. Kiki Irawan (31) was arrested in Ciledug, Tangerang city on August 24, with sabu a.k.a. methamphetamine worth some Rp300 million in his possession.
"The suspect works as an online ojek driver. When arrested, he was waiting to transact with people buying the drugs," Ciputat police chief Comr. Endy Mahandika said on Monday, September 2.
Endy stated Kiki was carrying 297 grams of meth. He also had an electric scale in the trunk of his motorcycle. Kiki is now being detained by the Ciputat sector police for further investigation.
"The suspect acted as the courier delivering the drugs sold by perpetrator B, whom we are still searching," he said.
The suspect, Endy said, picked up the drugs from B at the parking lot Puri Kembangan Mall in, West Jakarta.
"The suspect claimed that this was his first time delivering drugs. He said he received a phone call from someone he did not know, instructing him to deliver the drugs," Endy said.
