Jokowi, Jusuf Kalla Visit SBY's Passing Mother

  • TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi visited the Sixth Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's (SBY) residence at Puri Cikeas, Bogor, West Java today, August 31, to mourn the passing of SBY's mother Siti Habibah.

    Siti Habibah passed away at 86 years old at Mitra Keluarga Hospital in Cibubur, Jakarta, on Friday, August 30.

    The president arrived at 11:35 and received by SBY himself and son Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, according to Presidential Secretary Press.

    "President Jokowi and SBY shook their hands and hugging each other at that moment," said chief of press, media, and information bureau at the Presidential Secretary Erlin Suastini.

    Joko Widodo extended his condolence and had a small talk with SBY before praying for the late Habibah.

    Earlier, Vice President Jusuf Kalla and his wife Mufidah visited SBY's passing mother at around 10:38.
