TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government of Joko Widodo or Jokowi has earmarked Rp147 billion for the procurement of 101 fleets of official vehicles for Cabinet ministers, said the State Secretariat spokesman Eddy Cahyono.
Cahyono explained the government set the budget for new cars since the current vehicles have been used for over 10 years. The last procurement was facilitated in 2005 and 2009. Also, the cars have often broken down and were inefficient and unworthy to be used by state officials.
“[The vehicles] require high maintenance cost to be rejuvenated in consideration of its safety and reliability, and the cost is increasing in line with the time of the use,” said Cahyono in a written statement released by State Secretariat, quoted on Friday, August 23.
According to Cahyono, the government implemented e-procurement or LPSE system for the tender of the vehicles procurement project and consulted with the National Procurement Agency (LKPP).
“It also refers to Finance Ministerial Regulation No. 76/PMK.06/2015 concerning Standards of Goods and Standards of Needs for State Property,” he said.
Based on the tender result involving 41 firms, PT Astra International was declared as the tender winner of the fleets procurement for Jokowi’s cabinet ministers.
