Ministry Records Salt Production

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Director General of Marine Management of the Marine and Fisheries Ministry Brahmantya Satyamurti Poerwadi, said that the amount of the people's salt production reaches 197,000 tons as of August 2019. Meanwhile, the amount of salt produced by PT Garam had only reached 80,500 tons.

He added that consequently, the total amount of salt production recorded by the Marine and Fisheries Affairs Ministry reaches 277,900 tons. Brahmantya added that the number will continue to increase and reached its intended target.

"[We are] still optimistic. Because the heat by God's willing will continue" Brahmantya said after a coordination meeting on Tuesday, August 20, 2019.

He stated that the production target set for this year is at 2.3 million tons.

Meanwhile, Brahmantya said that currently, the remaining stock of salt as of August 13, 2019, is recorded at 291,600 tons. The number, according to Brahmantya, is divided into two categories, the public produced salt of 181.6 thousand tons and 110 thousand tons of PT Garam salt.

Brahmantya added that the KPP will continue to improve the quality of public publicly produced salt.
