KPK Secures Yogyakarta Public Works Agency Office after OTT

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has sealed the office of Yogyakarta Public Works (PU) Agency after conducted a sting operation (OTT) on Monday, August 19.
“As a measure to secure evidence, three locations are sealed with the ‘KPK line’, including PU Agency office and a residence in Solo,” said the commission's spokesman Febri Diansyah in Jakarta, Tuesday.
The anti-graft body arrested four people during the operation. They are a prosecutor in Yogyakarta District Court, two civil servants, and the other from a private party.
“The civil servants have a role in managing the procurement sector or the project,” Febri added.
Additionally, the commission also confiscated Rp100 million from the operation that was established following public reports in light of suspicious transaction.
The transaction was suspected to be related to a project in the PU Agency which was under the monitoring of the Regional Development Watch (TP4D) team in Yogyakarta District Court.
“We will further investigate whether this transaction is the first or there are prior ones,” Febri said.
Based on the Criminal Code Procedures (KUHAP), the KPK has 1x24 hours to determine the status of arrested people.
