TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The president director of state-owned train manufacturer PT INKA, Budi Noviantoro, assured the trial run for the Greater Jakarta LRT of the Cibubur-Cawang route will be conducted this September.

The government is eyeing to complete the massive transportation project by 2021, which will hopefully see the LRT fully-operable.

“PT KAI (state-owned railway operator) and Adhi Karya are ready to commence the test early in September because we need one week to deliver it. This will be done immediately and according to information it will be completed in 2021,” said Budi in Jakarta, Monday, August 19.

He stated that the schedule had been postponed from July due to the problematic land acquisition for the East Bekasi LRT depot, which was essential for the train’s maintenance.

“We will test-run one train set, we will adhere to KAI that purchased it,” he said.

Previously, the Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning, Sofyan Djalil, said the land acquirement for the LRT construction project would be completed by the end of July this year.
