TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta administration has completed the construction project of pedestrian along Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin as well as five cultural spots which are located in front of Panin Building, FX Sudirman, University Atmajaya, west and east area of Dukuh Atas, and Hotel Indonesia Roundabout (Bundaran HI).
The cultural spot in Dukuh Atas has been launched by Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan on Sunday, August 18. He hoped it can be a public space for Jakartan to hang out and form interaction.
“This area represents equality. People can feel at ease here regardless of their social-economic level,” said Anies.
He explained the cultural spot in Dukuh Atas has five areas, namely little tropical forest as a green space and the art spot for art and cultural activities such as music, standup comedy, etc.
There is also a skatepark and education spots where people can learn about the use of basements as the placement of utility systems, such as optical fiber, gas, clean water, wastewater, and city electricity.
The last area is Anjungan Pandang which is likely the favorite place as it provides the city view.
Anies Baswedan further mentioned that the construction project started in March 2019, with the help of private parties and various city communities.
