Free Passports on Independence Day in Bogor

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Bogor Immigration Office exempted two citizens whose birthdays fell on August 17, Indonesia’s 74th Independence Day, from paying the administrative fees for their passports, the office head, Suhendra stated here Saturday.
He explained that the free-administration fee passports were part of the celebrations organized by the Immigration Office and the state-owned postal company PT Pos Indonesia.
Tania and Sudarti were the two Bogor citizens chosen by the immigration office to receive the special passports. They were selected from the dozens of people who had applied for the special passports, Suhendra said.
"We had announced this program on our website and some social media platforms," Suhendra explained.
Besides the special passport, the Bogor Immigration Office in West Java Province also organized other events to commemorate Independence Day. These included a ceremony where the most loyal employees were felicitated, followed by fun games such as mini soccer and table tennis or ping-pong.
The Immigration Office chief highlighted the fact that human capital was a crucial factor in the development of the nation. He praised the quality of civil servants, who he said are professional, responsible, and committed to their work.
