President Jokowi Highly Praises DPR in Annual Session Speech

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo expressed his utmost appreciation for the House of Representatives (DPR) spirit to synergize and collaborate with the government. This was mentioned after the DPR passed the Law on the Non-Tax State-Income (UU PNBP) back in 2018.
“The attempts by the DPR to improve the quality of its Laws must be backed. Their willingness to do check and balances within one similar and large vision must be backed,” said the president in reading his speech in the People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI) 2019 Annual Session.
Other than the UU PNBP, the president also mentioned how the DPR ratified the Village Fund allocation up to Rp70 trillion in 2019, which the president maintained is greatly beneficial for people’s welfare, especially those in rural areas.
He also commended House’s performance, together with the government, upon completing 15 Draft Bills (RUU) consisting of the RUU on the international partnership, Hajj implementation, and the on the field of healthcare.
