TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo said that he has completed the draft of his cabinet structure for his second term in office. He said the announcement could take place at any time.
“It can be announced soon because the public has been waiting for a decision,” said the president-elect before chief editors of mass media who were invited for a lunch meeting at Merdeka Palace, Wednesday, August 14.
Later in Cibubur campgrounds, he explained that 45 percent of his second cabinet will be filled by party cadres, and the rest will be professionals.
The former governor of Jakarta also mentioned there will be a change in ministry nomenclature. “Yes, there will be a combination of ministries [into one ministry] and new ones,” he said.
However, he remained tight-lipped to expose the details.
In the first term of office, Jokowi merged two ministries namely the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of Public Housing, into one Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing. He also divided the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy into Tourism Ministry and Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf).
