  • TEMPO.CO, JakartaJakarta administration has launched an e-emission test application as an effort to control the city’s air quality, from which the public could obtain data on emissions test of their vehicles, said Governor Anies Baswedan.

“People can possess accurate data in this app,” said Anies in the City Hall, Tuesday, August 13.

According to Anies, the platform provides information about workshop locations that have been linked to the app. So people can receive an instant result after conducting the test.

The governor then appealed to the public to immediately take the test as it will be harder in 2020. The application data will be linked to taxation and parking data next year.

Those who fail to pass the emissions test, Anies added, will not obtain services such as the renewal of vehicle ownership documents (STNK) up to be subjected to a higher parking fee.

“The perspective must be broadened. People who pass the emissions test will have ease in dealing with the renewal of STNK process up to get an incentive in parking tariff. Otherwise, those who fail cannot take such services,” Anies said.

Anies Baswedan continued to say there are 155 workshops linked to the application across the capital. The number will be raised further. The call for an emissions test is one of the points noted in the Gubernatorial Instruction No. 66/2019 on the air quality control.
