TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An earthquake measured at Magnitude 4.9 hit the Jembrana District, Bali Province on Monday morning today, August 12.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that the earthquake took place on 05:08 Western Indonesia Time (WIB) which originated from the coordinate 8.87 south latitude-114.47 east longitudes at the depth of 82 kilometers.
The quake’s epicenter is 59 kilometers Southwest of Jembrana and was felt up to Kuta, Banyuwangi (East Java), Jembrana, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, and Denpasar.
The earthquake’s measurement in the affected areas was measured with the Modified Mercalli Intensity (MMI) for the lack of seismographs in the areas, with MMI II-III mostly felt by the affected regions.
