TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has caught red-handed eleven people during a sting operation (OTT) launched in Jakarta, Wednesday evening, August 7.
“The eleven people are importers, drivers, and aides of DPR member, and other parties,” said the agency’s deputy head Basaria Panjaitan, Thursday, August 8.
Basaria explained the anti-graft team received information about an illegal transaction related to a plan of garlic imports. The team suspected the transaction was done through banking service. “The team seizes a receipt of a transfer of Rp2 billion,” she said.
Also, the team found funds in US dollar currency from the DPR aides during the arrest. The fund allegedly would be delivered to the DPR Commission VI that is overseeing trade, industry, and investment.
The anti-graft body (KPK) has 24 hours to determine the legal status of them, and the case development will be released in tonight’s press release, Thursday, August 8.
