TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-run toll road operator Jasa Marga of Jabodetabek, Jabar Division along with the police has relocated the starting point of the contraflow scheme in Jakarta Inner Ring Road today, August 7. This aims to reduce potential density in Cawang interchange.
The corporate’s division head, Reza Febriano, said the initial starting point of the traffic engineering at KM 1+700 in Cawang will be moved to KM 0+200 in Halim. However, the endpoint is not changed at KM 8+100 in Senayan.
“The trial run will be established for five days in the next two weeks, on August 7-9 and on August 12-13, starting 06:00 to 10:00 a.m.,” said Reza in a written statement.
According to Reza, the starting point relocation will only allow road users from Halim or Jakarta-Cikampek toll road to pass the contraflow lane.
“Based on the evaluation result, many vehicles force to enter the starting point of the contraflow scheme in KM 1+700 in Cawang, especially traffic flow from Jagorawi toll,” he added.
Therefore, the latest scheme is imposed to prevent potential conflict between road users that might cause traffic disturbance and harm others. He then hoped the trial run of the contraflow system will run effectively.
