TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - At exactly 11:50 local time, August 4, at noon in Jakarta, a massive blackout occurred, shutting down all of the operation of the Jabodetabek (Greater Jakarta) electric train services.
VP Corporate Communication of PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) Anne Purba said that the electricity flow to power up the trains from State-owned Electricity Company PLN had been cut off.
"All the train services had been cut off because there is no electricity," said Anne when contacted by Tempo on Sunday, August 4, 2019.
According to her, passengers that have not yet aboard the train could exchange their tickets into money again. She stated that PT KCI, through her, apologized about the whole situation.
"At this time, KCI officers are still communicating with authorities to handle the situation," Anne explained when asked about the train's services in Jabodetabek area that had been shut down due to the blackout.
