TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Saratoga Investama Sedayu (IDX: SRTG), a compay owned by Sandiaga Uno, booked a net profit of Rp3.1 trillion during the first semester of 2019. The achievement mostly came from the Rp2 trillion investment profit generated from the share price increase of Investree.
At the end of June, SRTG also recorded a dividend income of Rp1.605 trillion.
"Investree's stock price increase in the first semester was proof that Saratoga's investment portfolio has positive fundamentals with long-term business prospects," Saratoga president director Michael W.P. Soeryadjaya said in a written statement, July 30.
Michael said Saratoga now focuses on investing in three main sectors: natural resources, infrastructure, and consumers.
He is confident that the company's performance will remain on an uptrend, in line with the positive long-term projections for Indonesia's economy. Now that the elections are over, he said, investment climate in Indonesia will continue to improve.
Meanwhile, Saratoga's investment director Devin Wirawan revealed that the company's strategic plans include helping Merdeka Copper Gold (MDKA) obtain funding to develop a gold and mineral mine in Banyuwangi. The funds were sourced through a rights offering for 215 million new shares, which were completed in July 18.
