TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Investigators of Jakarta Metro Police are still mulling the option to rehabilitate the suspect of an illegal drug abuser, comedian Nunung.
Police's head of narcotics division, Ad. Sr. Comr. Jean Calvijn Simanjuntak, said that his team was still waiting for the assessment result by Jakarta Provincial Narcotics Agency (BNNP DKI).
According to Calvijn, the assessment was requested as to fulfill the suspect’s rights. “we are concerned about [her rights] so we ask for an assessment. Let’s see the result later,” he said in his office, Tuesday, July 30.
However, he added, the assessment would not be the only factor that would be taken into consideration about the rehab program for the 55-year-old woman whose full name Tri Retno Prayudati.
There is also a Supreme Court Circular No. 04/2010 regarding drug abuse who is eligible for the medical rehabilitation program. This, he added, could not only be decided partially by calculating the amount of the confiscated goods but also the suspect’s health and the routine use of illegal drugs.
The other consideration is the suspect’s involvement in the drug dealer syndicate. “We have to see whether the suspect is involved in the network or other syndicates,” he underlined.
Calvijn went on to say that there is no sign of Nunung’s involvement in the narcotics distribution thus far. However, the investigation was still afoot, and the police are still hunting down three drug dealers in the prison network.
