Meeting Between Kominfo's Rudiantara - Kimi Hime Aborted

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) Minister Rudiantara confirmed that he will, unfortunately, be unable to meet Kimberly Khoe, better known as Youtuber Kimi Hime, at his office today on Monday.
“I didn’t meet with Kimi. I just finished a meeting with President Jokowi,” said Rudiantara in a text message to Tempo today.
He then said that a number of Kominfo officials might be able to arrange a schedule with Kimi and meet the Youtube personality in person.
Information of a meeting to take place between Kimi Hime and Rudiantara following the ministry’s ban on Kimi’s videos spread rampantly via text messages. This was confirmed to be true as Kominfo’s public relations bureau’s Ferdinandus Setu said that the meeting was planned to be held at 11:00 today.
Earlier reports saw the Kominfo stated that Hime’s videos attracted a plethora of responses from viewers which also include children. Therefore, the ministry is urged Youtube to block access to three of Kimi Hime’s videos that the government deemed vulgar.
In an interview on Thursday, July 25, Rudiantara said that the government does not just hastily block someone’s online content and once an account is blocked, he said it is because the government has made a thorough consideration regarding the matter.
