TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned Port Operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Pelindo I) has launched the `Nyebrang Yuk` (Let's Go Across) application, an E-Commerce service for booking ship tickets throughout Indonesia so that the people no longer need to meet face to face or queue to get inter-island ferry tickets anytime and anywhere.

"Nyebrang Yuk is an application for booking tickets for the first inter-island ferry in Indonesia owned by Pelindo I," Pelindo I's Director of Operations and Commercial Affairs Syahputera Sembiring said at the launch of this application in the Tanjungpinang Regional Building, Riau Islands, on Sunday.

The launching ceremony was attended by Acting.Governor of Riau Islands Isdianto, Deputy Head of Bank Indonesia's Representative Office of Riau Islands Gunawan, Expert Staff of Tanjungpinang City Government's Economics and Development Marzul Hendri, and Operations Director and General Manager of Pelindo 1-Tanjung Pinang Office Arif Indra Perdana.

According to Syahputra, the application can now be used by people who depart from Tanjung Pinang (SBP) Terminal Tanjungpinang to Batam. It will later be usable for other destinations, such as Tanjung Balai Karimun, Galang, Moro, Tanjung Batu, Bukit Island , Tajur Biru, Sei Tenam, Senayang, Pancur, Cempa, Mensana, and Dabo Singkep (Jago).

The Nyebrang Yuk application was firstly implemented at the SBP passenger terminal with the initial step of cooperating with the shipping company Marina Group. Furthermore, this application will be applied by port operators and other shipping companies in all regions in Indonesia.

"The purpose of this digitalization is for providing the public with fast, precise and accurate services," he said.

He stated, the Nyebrang Yuk application is able to provide passenger with accurate and real time information on every validated cruise using a passenger identity card. This application can be downloaded through Google Play and will exist on the App Store in mid-August.

Equipped with various cashless payment methods, this easy-to-operate application makes people free to choose their desired ships and destinations.

In addition to the Nyebrang Yuk application, the public can also buy ship tickets directly at the SBP passenger terminal through the Self Service Kiosk with a payment system using ATM.

"The Nyebrang Yuk and Self Service Kiosk application support Tanjungpinang City's authorities for developing their smart city concept," he said.

This application is a pilot project for all passenger ports in Indonesia which is also expected to be able to boost the development of Indonesia's tourism sector. "Thanks to this application, people just have to choose, pay, and cross," said Syahputera.

Meanwhile, Acting Governor of Riau Islands, Isdianto appreciated Pelindo I for introducing this application because it has made the people easier to book tickets.

Isdianto said, this application is a manifestation of the seriousness of Pelindo I in providing the best service to the people.

"Therefore, let's jointly use and utilize this application, and hopefully there will be a variety of new innovations from Pelindo I in providing the best service for the community," said Isdianto.
