TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia beats Vietnam 2-0 in the first leg of Group A of the 2019 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Under-15 (U-15) national Championship in Thailand Saturday evening. Indonesia scored the first goal of the match through Muhammad Valeron (40+2') and the second goal through Marselino Ferdinan (45'), according to the official website of the All-Indonesia Football Association (PSSI) in Jakarta Saturday.

With the victory, Indonesia topped Group A's provisional standings with three points.

In the second leg of Group A, Indonesia will face Singapore on Monday, July 29, 2019, starting 3:00 p.m. WIB (West Indonesia Standard Time).

Indonesia's U-15 national team was put under by Vietnam as soon as the match began.

With Vietnam intensifying its offensive, the Indonesian team made a violation leading to a penalty in the 18th minute. However, goalkeeper I Made Putra Kaicen managed to foil the penalty kick from Vo Anh Quan.

Despite being pressured, Indonesia's Muhammad Valeron scored the team's first goal in the 40+2nd minute.

Leading 1-0, the Indonesian team appeared more confident in the second half of the match and scored a second goal through Marselino Ferdinan in the 45th minute to lead.

Trailing 0-2, Vietnam raided the Indonesian defense but the latter managed to hold off the Vietnamese. The score remained unchanged until the final whistle.
