18,000 Stores Ready to Take Part in 2019 Indonesia Great Sale

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The organizing committee announced 2019 Hari Belanja Diskon (HBD) Indonesia or Indonesia Great Sale will be held on August 16-31, 2019. The committee head Fetty Kwartati said 18,000 retailers from the Indonesian Shopping Centers Tenants Association (Hippindo) will take part in the event.

“A total of 18,000 tenants will join 2019 HBD Indonesia with over 200 companies, more than 300 brands in 133 shopping centers across 70 cities of Indonesia,” said Fetty during a press conference in Trade Ministry building, Central Jakarta, Thursday, July 25.

According to Fetty, this year’s revenue was targeted to reach Rp28.8 trillion, or 20 percent higher than last year’s goal at Rp24 trillion.

The organizing committee, she added, will set special promotions and discounts related to the 74th anniversary of Indonesian independence. For example, discounts of up to 74 percent, certain products on sale at Rp74,000, or promotion for people aged 74 years old.

“All members of Hippindo department stores, or each brand, will offer their ‘killer’ promotion or ‘killer’ products,” Fetty added.

The Indonesian Employers Association (Apindo) deputy head Shinta Kamdani reiterated additional promotion will be provided by retailers, such as for consumers wearing unique attributes on the Independence Day on August 17, 2019.

“Because Indonesia Great Sale is motivated by the spirit of nationalism to celebrate the Republic of Indonesia 74th anniversary,” Shinta concluded.
