Deemed Vulgar, Gov't Restricts Videos of Youtuber Kimi Hime

24 July 2019 20:49 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Communication and Informatics Ministry (Kominfo) officially sent a request to block the access and impose age restrictions on more than six Youtube videos created by 'Gaming Youtuber' Kimi Hime. The request has been sent to Google HQ as the video-sharing site’s parent company.

“We have conducted thorough profiling and decided to suspend three youtube contents [of hers],” said Ferdinandus Setu, acting head of Kominfo’s public relations bureau in Central Jakarta today, July 24.

The Kominfo team claims to have found that Hime’s videos attracted a plethora of responses from viewers which also include children. Therefore, the ministry is urging Youtube to block access to three of Kimi Hime’s videos.

“Google also agrees since it doesn’t comply to their community guidelines,” said Ferdinand who maintains that the videos in question have even ticked all the boxes on being considered as ‘vulgar content.’

The ministry asserts that its move is based on multiple public complaints they received regarding the Youtube videos made by the content creator whose real name is Kimberly Khloe (29). One video that has been blocked is the “Strip Challenge Mati 1 Kali = Buka Baju! - PUBG Mobile Indonesia.”
