Jokowi, Prabowo, and Megawati Set to Meet

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A meeting of three most notable political figures; President-elect Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto, and Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri, is set to transpire on Wednesday, July 24, 2019.
According to Gerindra Party deputy Arief Poyuono, the meeting of the three is scheduled in the noon.
“If everything goes as planned tomorrow, Pak Prabowo, Ibu Mega, and Kangmas Joko Widodo will meet at 12:00,” Arief confirmed in a text message today, July 23.
A report says the meeting will take place at Megawati’s residence in Menteng, Central Jakarta. However, it is still unclear what the meeting will discuss.
Asked about the meeting, Gerindra deputy chairman Sufmi Dasco Ahmad said he did not know about such event. “I don’t know about it yet,” said Dasco today.
Jokowi and Prabowo previously met for the first time after elections on Saturday, July 13, at the MRT Lebak Bulus Station in South Jakarta. Both men continued their journey to have lunch together at the FX Sudirman.
