TEMPO.CO, Depok - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil said he would allocate Rp240 billion to alleviate severe congestion in Depok city.

Ridwan said the budget would be used to finance flyover and underpass construction projects in the intersection of Citayam and Jl. Dewi Sartika.

“We are drafting the detail engineering system (DED) this year,” said the governor at the Depok Mayor’s Office, Thursday, July 18.

The budget for the feasibility study and the DED will be Rp1.48 billion for each area.

According to him, the provincial administration will design an underpass on Jl. Dewi Sartika and a flyover at Citayam Station to reduce traffic density.

“We are determined to organize Citayam Station that is renowned for its complexity and severe traffic jam,” he added

Ridwan Kamil went on to say that he would collaborate with the Depok administration to run the projects, thus both governments would share responsibilities in the financing scheme. “The land clearance [will be financed] by Depok, and the construction by us [the West Java administration].”
