Garuda Labor Union Laments Youtube Vlogger's Criticism

TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - Garuda Labor Union (Sekarga) head Tomy Tampatty appealed to the public to not be hesitant to criticize the national flag carrier following his police report against Rius Vernandes and Monica Elwiyana.

“Don’t be afraid to criticize us, but please, communicate it constructively. If there is anything that requires confirmation, please contact us first,” said Tomy, Thursday, July 18.

Tomy admitted review is a form of public concern to the airline and Garuda will receive it and responds for recovery as long as it is conveyed in a good way.

“When criticism is directly exposed to the public, we have no room to apologize and explain that it is internal and employees’ mistake,” he added.

Tomy went on to say that people generalized the bad service of Garuda as the impact of the travel vlogger’s criticism. “We’re smashed.”

He further ensured that the handwritten menu card was not the standard operating procedure of Garuda.

Previously, a Youtube vlogger Rius Vernandes posted a photo of Garuda Indonesia handwritten menu on his Instagram stories. Several Sekarga members then filed a police report against Rius and Elwiyana on Saturday, July 13, on charges of defamation.

Investigators of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Resort Police had examined four Garuda employees related to the case. The examination date of Rius and Elwiyana had been rescheduled to Tuesday, July 23 after the two failed to meet the first request on Wednesday, July 17.
