TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The negotiation process in regards to Jakarta becoming a host country in the 2020 Formula E calendar remains ongoing in a well-developed stage by Formula E organizers.
Formula E spokesman said in an interview with motorsport.com that the final decision has yet to be put in place; “We’re in advanced discussions but aren’t yet able to make any announcement.”
Moreover, the FIA Formula E spokesperson said that organizers still have two slots available for the 2019/2020 calendar with detailed schedules announced later in the year.
This follows Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan’s announcement in his Instagram account on Sunday, July 14, where he proudly mentioned that Indonesia’s capital will host a race in the 2020 season after three-months of negotiations with Formula E CEO and COO, Alexandro Agag and Alberto Longo.
“This means the world’s eyes and cameras will focus on Jakarta, thousands of spectators from around the globe will be present. Jakarta will be [noticed globally],” Anies wrote in one of his social media posts.
