TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaya Purnama (BTP), also known as Ahok, was granted with a Dayak Customary honor 'Asang Lalung' by the Dayak community in East Kalimantan, while his wife Puput was granted with the customary honor 'Idang Bulan'.
A simple ceremony of the honor granting was attended by Dayar figures, namely East Kalimantan Dayak Youth Troops (LPADKT) Syaharie Jaang, Eddy Gunawan, and Laden Mering. The ceremony was held at the Mesra Ballroom of International Hotel Samarinda, Sabtu, July 13.
One of Basuki's agenda in the region was visiting Dayak Customary Pampang Village in Sungai Siring, Samarinda. BTP and his wife visited the Kalimantan's city since Friday.
The Dayak people in Pampang Village welcomed him warmly. The LPADKT head Syaharie Jaang even asked BTP to deliver East Kalimantan Dayak community's aspiration for moving the country's capital city to East Kalimantan Province.
However, Basuki said that he did not come as President Jokowi's representative, he, therefore, said that such aspiration should not be addressed to himself.
”But if you ask me [if I agree with the notion], I also want the capital city to be moved to East Kalimantan," BTP remarked.
