TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) public relations bureau, Marius Ardu Jelamu revealed President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo’s intentions to move forward the region’s tourism industry and pitched for the region to end up being “classy and advanced.”
“There are hundreds of international tourists each day from all parts of the globe that enter Labuan Bajo; and the President’s arrival here is to push the ministries, organizations, and to truly make sure that the development of the tourism industry in West Manggarai will make it advanced and classy,” said Marius Ardu on Thursday, July 11.
Labuan Bajo is considered the country’s one of ten nationally prioritized tourism. He says that Labuan Bajo, Mandalika, Toba Lake, and Borobudur Temple are four most super-prioritized locations.
On the second day, the president will visit Rinca Island and probably to Komodo Island too.
Rinca Island, Komodo Island, and Padar Island, that are included in the Komodo National Park Area, are handled directly by the central government. These islands are set as the UNESCO world heritage sites.
