TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned former Coordinating Ministers for Economic, Financial, and Industry Affairs, Kwik Kian Gie and Rizal Ramli, over the misuse of Bank Indonesia liquidity support (BLBI) funds.
“They will be examined as a witness for the suspect SJN (Sjamsul Nursalim),” said the commission spokesperson Febri Diansyah in a written statement, Thursday, July 11.
The anti-graft body previously named Sjamsul and his wife Itjih S. Nursalim corruption suspects in the alleged graft case related to the fulfillment of Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance’s (BLBI) obligors obligation to Bank Restructuring Agency (BPPN) that caused Rp4.58 trillion in state loss.
The anti-graft body KPK determined to continue the investigation despite the Supreme Court received a cassation filed by Syafruddin Arsyad Temenggung, the former head of BPPN who had been named a suspect in April 2017.
