TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) revealed that the national joint-police task force uncovered a new piece of evidence regarding the acid attack on Novel Baswedan, Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator.
They say that the joint task force (TGPF) is quite possibly close to uncovering the intellectual actor responsible for orchestrating the deadly attack.
“We received the information from our friends at TGPF, they seem to have obtained critical information that may able to create a crack,” said Komnas HAM commissioner Choirul Anam at his office on Tuesday.
Anam recalled that he received this information during a meeting with the joint task force around three months ago. The meeting also revealed the ongoing investigation, suggesting that there are 4 possible suspects of the case.
Komnas HAM’s monitoring team was formed specially to oversee the investigation on Novel Baswedan’s attack. Meanwhile, the TGPF is a joint-team effort consisting of members from the Police, civilians, and KPK employees, which officially ends its tenure early this July.
According to Anam, he is not aware of the obstacles facing the team but asserts that the information handed to the Komnas HAM is actually enough evidence to show the presence of four unidentified people during the attack.
