Another Earthquake Rocks Ternate Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 on the Richter scale rocked North Maluku today, July 9, at 07:57:58 Central Indonesian Time (WITA), at 107 kilometers west of Ternate or 114 kilometers west of Tidore.
“[It’s] located around the 7.1 magnitude quake on Sunday, July 7,” said the spokesperson of Geophysics Station of Winangun, Manado City, Edward H Mengko.
The quake was at a depth of 26 kilometers and did not trigger a tsunami, he added.
Previously, BMKG recorded 47 aftershocks with a magnitude of 3.1-4.9 after Sunday's tectonic quake as of Monday, 12:45 Western Indonesian Time (WIB). The main tremor was centered in the sea, 133 kilometers west of Ternate City at a depth of 49 kilometers.
In the early hours of today, the city got hit again by 5.5 magnitude earthquake at 01:52 a.m.
