Rain to Shower Jakarta Today Afternoon, BMKG Predicts

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Geophysics, and Climatology Agency (BMKG) predicted local rain will fall in several areas of Jakarta on Monday afternoon, July 8.
South Jakarta and East Jakarta will be showered with light rain, while West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, and Thousands Island will be partly cloudy since the morning until the afternoon.
In the night, most of Jakarta areas will be cloudy, except South Jakarta that is predicted to see local rainfall with light intensity.
The air temperature in the capital city is ranging from 23 to 33 degrees Celsius with a humidity rate between 55 to 90 percent.
Previously, BMKG reported the peak of the dry season in the city will occur in August until September 2019. This natural event will cause extreme drought as the rain will not fall for 21-30 days.
Areas on alert status of drought are Rawa Badak and Rorotan, North Jakarta. The agency predicted the two areas will suffer days without rain for 31 to 60 days.
