Anies Baswedan Assigns Jakpro to Manage Taman Ismail Marzuki

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has appointed PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) to manage Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Cikini, Central Jakarta after the revitalization project of the city’s art and culture center completed.
The city-owned developer CEO Dwi Wahyu Daryoto said that the art and culture center would be under his corporate’s management for 30 years. “From 2021 until 2051,” said Dwi in the TIM complex, Wednesday, July 3.
The appointment of Jakpro was stipulated in the Gubernatorial Decree No. 63 of 2019 in which the property developer was tasked to design and revitalize the center, and thus the management and maintenance.
Anies expected the new face of TIM would not only be used for commercial practices but also the development of art and cultural activities.
“Our true focus will be art and culture development; not [aiming] to get revenue, except [take it] from other events at the hotel or etc,” Dwi explained.
Last Tuesday, Anies Baswedan established a groundbreaking ceremony of Taman Ismail Marzuki revitalization project.
The Rp1.8 trillion project that was financed from Jakpro regional capital injection (PMD) was expected to complete in 2021. The first stage would be the structures construction for hotel, H.B. Jassin literature documentary center, culinary center, an art gallery, and public spaces.
