234 People Sign Up to be the Next KPK Leader

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As many as 234 people have registered themselves for the 2019-2023 Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) leader selection process in the final day today.
“There is a possibility that the number of registrants will increase today,” said Hendardi, member of the KPK selection committee (Pansel) member today.
He said that these people come from various backgrounds such as advocates (43), academicians (40), people with a corporate background (18), prosecutors and judges (13), police members (8), auditors (3), and KPK leaders (2).
From the total amount of registrants, 87 have been verified technical completeness while 103 have incomplete registration requirement, and 44 are yet to be verified.
The registration period was open since June 17, 2019, and ends today on July 4th at 16:00 local time. Hendardi said that the committee has yet decided whether to extend it or not.
