Police Yet to Uncover Masterminds Behind May 22 Riots

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian National Police (Polri) spokesman Brig. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo said police will announce the investigation report regarding the Jakarta May 22 riots next week. However, police are yet able to uncover the intellectual actor behind the riots.
“We have yet uncovered it. I remind you that investigations are not a simple as flipping one’s hand. Especially since the report will be based on a scientific crime investigation,” said Dedi in Jakarta today.
The Indonesian Police says that the investigation on the May 22 riots is almost complete and that the aforementioned public investigation report will be based on the last police investigation meeting on Thursday, July 4th.
“We will present it to the public on the team’s performance, teams that were appointed by the National Police Deputy Chief, either from the Bareskrim, Metro Jaya Police, and the entire joint police personnel,” said Dedi.
